According to Yoga philosophy, there are seven energy centers, or ‘chakras’, that run through the core of the human body. Starting at the base of the spine and moving upward, each chakra related to a different region of the body, governing and protecting the energetic and physiological functions of its particular region. Considered the anatomy of the subtle body, the charkas govern the body’s energetics, and have a powerful effect on health and well-being.
Each of the seven chakras has a name, a symbol, and a color. The second chakra is orange and governs the womb. It is called Svadhisthana in Sanskrit, which translates into English as ‘Sweetness’. All Sweetness products worn around the low abdomen are lined in orange silk.
The fourth chakra is green and relates to the heart. It is called Anahata in Sanskrit, which means ‘unstruck’. The Sweetness Sling, which holds the baby close to the heart, is lined in green silk to represent this energy center.
